Betty James
had an affinity for hitting things since she was a
small child. When she was not practicing on her brother she made beautiful music on pots and
pans. In school, teachers quickly noticed her
gift, making her a natural fit to play the triangle.
As an adult Betty lived a rich and full life, but
missed her childhood hobby. After being asked
to guest on a very special dinner bell where she
called in the farm hands with great success, and
a brief stint on the cowbell (too many cows
followed her home) she decided, much to Will
Ferrell's dismay, it was time to return to her
roots - but in a new way. She picked up the
gong, and now speaks it fluently, and has never
looked back. That's why Betty James is Lyceum
Studios' resident gonger.
