Forgiveness

Cycle 8, July 16 - August 12

"Forgiveness is the scent the flower
leaves behind after you've crushed it
with your heel."

What may be most difficult to forgive are the faults we find in others that reside within
ourselves. The reason is so many have yet to forgive themselves for obvious blemishes they
condemn in others, but have trouble admitting to or recognizing it in themselves.

Nobody is perfect. The more perfect a person feels they ought to be, the more that person
feels they have to hide. When we can forgive ourselves for our imperfections, LOVE
ourselves AS WE ARE RIGHT NOW, the more flexible we can become with life's
circumstances and our place with and within it.

Some people may not feel that they're unforgiving, yet are rigid in many areas, unable to
adjust well (or at all) and are constantly weighing and judging others (and themselves)
along a scale of "more than" or "less than". When self-image is based on such tenuous
dangerous ground, one always comes out lacking.

Because one can never win - someone will always be "better" - and because to pronounce
human beings as inferior is also a losing decision (if we are truly ONE and connected to
call someone less is to make yourself so) a perpetual spiral of inadequacy is set into
motion. A flawed paradigm can never remedy itself on its own terms. Rejection, whether
inwardly or outwardly directed, cannot heal.

You must begin where you stand now and when you walk forward know that Spirit will
bring forth that scent of forgiveness whenever you falter and wherever you fall.
